

Edible Mushroom Guide Microlearning
This interactive microlearning guide introduces learners to a selection of common edible mushrooms through a visual, reference-style experience.
Instead of presenting the information as a traditional linear course, the guide allows learners to explore individual mushrooms, view identifying characteristics, and uncover additional information through interactive reveals.
The experience combines detailed imagery, concise information, and interactive navigation to create a resource that learners can explore at their own pace. Its tab-based structure makes it easy to move between mushrooms and revisit information as needed.

I developed the experience in Articulate Storyline 360, building each mushroom as a dedicated content layer within a persistent tabbed interface.
I focused on creating a flexible structure that allowed learners to move between sections without following a prescribed sequence. Object states were used to distinguish the selected mushroom and maintain clear visual feedback as learners navigated the guide.
I then refined the timing and sequencing of the on-screen elements, using Storyline's timeline to control the appearance of imagery, text, and supporting graphics within each section.
The primary interaction is a persistent tab system that allows learners to select and revisit individual mushrooms at any point. Selecting a tab changes the active object state and displays the corresponding content layer.
Within each section, click-to-reveal interactions allow learners to uncover additional information while keeping the initial screen concise. This creates multiple levels of information without requiring learners to navigate away from the main mushroom profile.
The combination of layers, object states, and triggers creates a non-linear experience that functions more like an interactive reference guide than a traditional course.
The design was built around the visual characteristics of the mushrooms themselves, using detailed imagery as the primary entry point into each section.
I kept the interface clean and structured so that learners could quickly identify the selected mushroom and distinguish between the main information and additional content. Consistent layouts, typography, icons, and spacing were used across each section to create a cohesive experience.
Animated reveals add movement to the otherwise information-focused screens, helping introduce content progressively without making the interface feel overly busy.
