Frequently Asked Questions

GRAPHIC DESIGN

  • I will always include the details of what assets are required from you in your proposal and kick-off email. It's important to know that I don't start the design process until a 50% deposit is received.

  • It depends on what you need. A single flyer is a very different project from a full brand identity. I can give you a rough guide:

    • Logo design: $300 – $800

    • Brand guide: $750 – $1,500

    • Social media graphics: from $45 per graphic

    • Print design (flyers, brochures, posters): from $75 per piece

    • Presentations: from $150

After our discovery call I'll send you a detailed proposal so you know exactly what you're paying for before we get started.

  • Yep! Copywriting is not a part of my offering so it should be ready before design begins.

Design shapes around words, not the other way around. I could use placeholder text but that leads to layouts that don't actually work for your real content. And time is honey and we wouldn't want to waste honey do we?

That said, if you're working on it and need a little more time, just tell me. We can stage the project so copy and design come together as you go.

  • Then we start there. You don't need to have everything figured out before you reach out. That's part of what working together is for. On our Discovery call, the questions I'll ask will help us both get clear on your direction before any design work begins. A lot of clients come to me knowing what they want to feel but not how to express it. I take it from there.

  • Honestly, that depends on the scope, but here's a rough guide:

    • Single piece (flyer, poster, social graphic): 3–5 business days

    • Logo design: 1–2 weeks

    • Brand guide: 2–3 weeks

    • Full brand identity suite: 3–4 weeks

    • Presentation design: 1–2 weeks depending on slide count

Your proposal will always include a clear timeline so you know what to expect. The biggest factor in turnaround time is how quickly feedback comes back. The faster you respond, the faster we move.

  • I do, but it depends on my current workload. If you have a tight deadline, get in touch as early as possible and I'll let you know if I can accommodate it. Rush projects are definitely possible but carry a 30% surcharge on the standard rate. The earlier you reach out, the better your chances of getting the turnaround you need.

  • Primarily by email. I like to keeps everything documented so it's easy to refer back to.

For more complex projects, I'll schedule check-ins at key stages so you always know where things stand.

I don't do revisions or feedback by phone. Written feedback means we both have a clear record of what was asked for and what was changed.

  • Every project includes a set number of revision rounds, typically two (I always include this in your proposal). That means two opportunities to review, give feedback, and request changes before the project is considered final.

Revisions are for refining the direction we agreed on, not for changing course entirely. If the scope shifts significantly mid-project, we'll have a conversation about what that means for the timeline and cost. It's makes for a great experience when we both know where we stand at all times. No surprises.

Beyond that, each revision will be billed as an additional cost per round.

  • You do, 100%. Once the final payment is made, all the files are yours to use however you need.

  • You'll always receive the final print-ready PDF, PNG, JPG files. Those are yours from the moment final payment is made.

Source files (the working AI or PSD files) are a little different. For logo and brand identity work, yes — I'll hand over the AI file because your logo is yours and you should be able to use it freely without depending on me. For other projects like print, social media, and presentations, source files aren't included by default but are available for an additional fee — typically 25–50% of the original project cost.

If owning the source file matters to you for a specific project, just let me know upfront and we'll build it into the quote.

  • It depends on the project, but I always deliver the formats you actually need. Here's what most clients receive:

    • Logo: AI or SVG (vector), PNG (transparent background), JPG — in full colour, black, and white

    • Print files: High-res PDF

    • Digital files: PNG or JPG at the appropriate resolution

    • Social media graphics: Sized and exported for the platforms you're using

If you need a specific format that isn't on this list, feel free to ask.

  • Once a project is closed and final files are delivered, any additional changes are billed separately at my standard rate. This is why the revision process matters. It's your opportunity to get everything right before we wrap up.

That said, I'm not going to leave you stuck in the mud. If something small comes up shortly after delivery, reach out and we'll figure it out.

WEBSITE DESIGN

  • Right here. Fill in the inquiry form or send me a message and we'll set up a discovery call. We'll figure out what you need, whether we're a good fit, and what happens next.

  • It depends on what you need — which is exactly why we talk first. That said, here's a rough guide:

    • Landing page: $300

    • Full website (up to 9 pages): $1800

    • Done-for-you template: $800

After our discovery call I'll send you a detailed proposal with everything broken down clearly.

  • I use Wix, and I love it for what it does. It's flexible enough to build something beautiful and custom, but simple enough that you can manage it yourself once I hand it over. It requires no coding, there's no mystery, you won't have to be calling me every time you want to update a photo.

  • Think of hosting as the rent you pay to keep your site live on the internet. Without it your site doesn't exist. Wix handles all of that for you, it's built into your monthly plan, so there's no separate server to set up or technical stuff to figure out. You just pay Wix directly, usually around $17–$27 a month, and everything runs. That's it.

(Wix monthly fees aren't included in my design price)

  • Your domain name is your address on the internet. It's the thing people type to find you. Like reneemahrun.com. And yes, you definitely need one.

If you already have one, great. We'll connect it to your new site. If not, I'll walk you through getting one. It takes about 10 minutes and usually costs around $10–$20 a year.

  • Always. Every site I build is optimized for mobile before it goes anywhere near a launch button. Most of your visitors will likely be using their phones, and a site that falls apart on mobile is no bueno. So yes. It'll look good.

  • The more prepared you are, the smoother everything goes. Here's and idea of what I'll need from you:

    • Your logo (SVG or high-res PNG if you have it)

    • Brand colors and fonts (if you have them — if not, we'll sort it)

    • Written content for each page

    • Photos — headshots and any brand imagery

    • Examples of sites you love and loathe

    • 50% deposit of the price I quoted you

If you don't have everything ready, fret not! We'll figure out what's missing on the discovery call and make a plan together.

  • Sure. Wix has a built-in members area that works really well for coaches. Your clients can log in, access resources, connect to your booking system, or link through to your course platform. It's included in the my Canopy package and can be added on to the other packages too.

  • Sure, I can refresh your site. I can't give an exact price for that without seeing what I'd be working with, but the refresh price starts at $500.

  • Life happens and I get that. If something comes up, just let me know (the earlier the better). I'd much rather know than have things go quiet and lose momentum. There is a restart fee if a project goes on pause beyond 2 months, though. This will be noted in your proposal.

  • We celebrate! And then I make sure you actually know how to use the thing. Every project ends with a handover walkthrough where I show you around your site, walk you through making updates, and make sure you feel confident managing it yourself. It's recorded so you can come back to it whenever you need a reminder.

And if the idea of managing it yourself makes you want to take a nap, that's what my monthly Care Plan is for. I'll handle everything so you don't have to.
